Following up after you send your CV and after an interview are important parts of the job search process.

The vast majority of people that I have met in my career as a Career Coach send their CV by email and then wait and hope for an interview.  If they are successful in securing an interview, they then wait and hope to get the job.

I believe that a proactive approach to your job search including calling the employer or recruitment consultant after you send your CV and calling the employer after your interview will greatly improve your chances of success.
